Astana Arena is located along the main route connecting the city’s airport to the new urban center and forms a key element within a larger sports complex masterplan. With a capacity of 30,000 spectators, the stadium is enclosed by a lightweight aluminium shell where the roof and façade merge into a continuous protective envelope suited to Astana’s severe climate.

The roof operates on a movable system that can open or close in approximately twenty minutes, allowing the stadium to adapt to changing weather conditions. This operability also transforms the arena into a multi-purpose venue capable of hosting various sporting events, circuses, concerts and large-scale public gatherings throughout the year.
