Installed on one of the bridges of the Victoria and Albert Museum during the London Design Festival, Beloved is a mirrored pavilion that creates a reflective dialogue with its surroundings while inviting visitors into a dual cinematic experience. Through narrow openings in the mirrored façade, two parallel video narratives unfold inside the installation.

An art installation featuring large, reflective black panels positioned in a gallery space with an ornate ceiling and natural light coming through skylights.

The first presents archival photographs and footage inspired by Sabahattin Ali’s Madonna in a Fur Coat, tracing the author’s journey through Berlin. The second offers a contemporary counterpoint, featuring images and video captured in the same locations by Cemal Emden, documenting the perspective of the studio’s founder, architect Murat Tabanlıoğlu, as he retraces those routes decades later.

By juxtaposing past and present, memory and observation, the installation explores how personal and cultural histories intersect through place, perception and time. Beloved stands as a poetic meditation on continuity, inviting the viewer to navigate between two eras reflected upon a single surface.
