Galata Greek School is located on a main street in Istanbul’s Karaköy district and was originally built as a primary school nearly a century ago. As the Greek community in the city diminished over time, the school eventually closed due to the lack of students.

The project involved renovating the building into a cultural center suited to the needs of the twenty-first century while preserving its historic patina. The former classrooms were transformed into exhibition spaces and a Greek archive, and the large assembly hall was adapted to host concerts, exhibitions and private events. The result is a sensitively restored building that reconnects its architectural heritage with contemporary cultural life.
